APW - Waltham, "Stief RR Standard, Nashville, Tenn" marked on mvt, model 1892, 18S, GF OF recase, SW-LS, unique WE-DSD signed "Stief's Standard Nashville" in black and red oversize script, lever escapement, 17J, GJS, concentric pattern NI damascene, s#7018225. Very rare model 1892 Waltham with impressive and stylish two-color dial signature.
CONDITION:
Mvt: GRO, excellent mvt condition overall, main plate with a scratch between case-screw location and third wheel jewel setting, shorter FS near center jewel setting, UFS scattered elsewhere, regulator with some oxide spots; dial with small patched chips at lower corners of center chapter, cracks with some white fill material along right side perimeter of center chapter, crack along top of seconds-register, light hls in seconds-register and at dial's edge outside 1; excellent hands; case shows light wear, MFS and some FS, small dings on bottom of band; brassy bow is tight, crown shows little wear; glass crystal with some small scratches.
